Tell us about yourself.:
Credit–Litologist, Dionne Perry, a board-certified Credit Consultant, delivers the goods on credit, giving young people exactly what they need to make it in this economy.

Perry consults, writes, and speaks on the subject of credit in all its forms. She can be heard on podcasts and at virtual and in-person events at schools, libraries, organizations, and businesses.

With a bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, and Development, a master’s degree in Human Resources, experience as a licensed mortgage broker, and now a national award-winning author, Perry is uniquely qualified to educate young people and adults on the importance of maintaining a good credit score. Over the past twenty-five years, she has dedicated time and effort to helping adults and teens understand the importance of maintaining a good credit score.

Perry has also developed Credit-Lit Ambassador programs for empowering teens and for educators, counselors, community activists, financial advisors, and other adults interacting with teens to help educate them on how credit score process works.

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?:
I grew up in South Carolina. My experience living in South Carolina helped me explore my passion to write.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Stay focused on your projections and research your topics.


What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Stay true to you and follow your dreams even when it gets hard.

What are you reading now?
I am reading financial literacy books I find interesting.

What’s your biggest weakness?
I am human I have several weaknesses; I try to work on them all on a daily basis. One weakness is trying to accomplish everything at the same time.

What is your favorite book of all time?
Maya Angelou's books. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?
I like to spend my time with family and friends.

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I read was when I attend elementary school. I don't remember the title.

What has inspired you and your writing style?
My life experiences have influenced my writing style.

What are you working on now?
Promoting my books and encouraging others to join the Credit-Lit movement.

What is your favorite method for promoting your work?
Word of mouth, my previous customers recommending my books to friends and family.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Continuing to promote my books. Educate the community on the importance of good credit.

How well do you work under pressure?
I work very well under pressure. I am very task oriented.

How do you decide what tone to use with a particular piece of writing?
I think about my audience.

If you could share one thing with your fans, what would that be?
The Credit-Lit movement is a movement that everyone should considered joining. Our children deserve to learn the importance of Good Credit!
