Tell us about yourself.:
I write across varying genres, including sweet, clean, closed-door romances, cozy mysteries, children's books, and educational resources.

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?:
I grew up in New London, Ohio, which is still a small town. I think having that background prepared me to write about the small town experiences that I channel in several of my books.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have an unusual editing habit. When I'm proofreading my work, I sit at my desk with the collar of my shirt pulled over my lips. I don't know why I do this…and I suppose that's why it's a bit odd.

What authors have influenced you?
I grew up in New London, Ohio, which is still a small town. I think having that background prepared me to write about the small town experiences that I channel in several of my books.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I'd like to tell new authors to keep plugging away at their craft. I know it can be daunting, but it's also a kick to get to share your stories with others.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
No one said this, but I read it in plenty of books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: "Do not just see. Observe."

What are you reading now?
I just finished reading Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano. I loved it and would highly recommend it to others. This morning, I started re-reading Mansfield Park by Jane Austen because I fully endorse re-reading beloved books.

What’s your biggest weakness?
Chocolate. It seems so straight forward, but I've never met a chocolate cake I didn't want to taste.

What is your favorite book of all time?
My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but my favorite author is Agatha Christie. I simply cannot get enough of Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple.

When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?
I live in Orlando, Florida so I spend lots of time hanging around the pool, reading, and visiting the local theme parks. I also exercise my obsession with chocolate by baking cookies.

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I'm not sure that this was the first story I ever read, but I do recall the first I ever memorized. I was just a bit of a thing when I learned how to read Cinderella at the Ball. I loved sitting down and reading that story.

What has inspired you and your writing style?
My writing style is eclectic because I like to read from varying genres. I also love doing research so when I was ghostwriting, I didn't stick to one type of romance. I've penned contemporary as well as historical fiction pieces because I love learning about an environment, then dipping my toes in it.

What are you working on now?
On July 1st, the first book in the Buenaventura Beach Mystery series is going to be released. I'm excited to share my love of mysteries with my readers.

What is your favorite method for promoting your work?
I think I like doing in-person events most of all. It's fun to have a conversation with someone who is thinking of picking up one of my novels and giving it a try.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I'm going to keep plugging away at the Buenaventura Beach Mystery series, and around Christmastime, I have another romance series to debut.

How well do you work under pressure?
I live for making deadlines and enjoy meeting them.

How do you decide what tone to use with a particular piece of writing?
I try to envision the characters first. Once I decide who they are and how they will communicate with others, the tone develops on its own. Writing dialogue is a huge part of my work, so I let the words carry everything else.

If you could share one thing with your fans, what would that be?
I hope you love reading my stories! I work hard to come up with unique ideas and create books that I'd like to read. I can only pray that I'm making a connection with like-minded people and giving them a bit of entertainment.
