“The Dispute between the Eagle and the Hermit Thrush” unfolds in the enchanting world of the forest. This sequel to “How the Hermit Thrush Got its Song” follows the story of the Creator’s race, where the bird who could fly the furthest would win the best song.

The Hermit Thrush, the smallest bird in the forest, cunningly cheated by hitching a ride on the mighty Eagle, the largest bird in the forest, to secure victory.

The Eagle, outraged by the Hermit Thrush’s deceit, demands justice.

In the spirit of the Haudenosaunee values of reconciliation and consensus, the birds of the forest convene a council to address this contentious dispute. As the tension builds, the Council seeks to find a resolution that not only respects the integrity of the race but also upholds the harmony of the forest community.
