I am a psychologist and happiness expert. I just published my first book last month and am so proud and excited!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

I want to help everybody to be happier and more successful. I present different tips for relationships, managing your time, getting healthier and feeling great!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have to escape to write. I was inspired by the movie Love Actually, where the author goes to a lake house in Portuagal to write his book. I went to a beach condo in Florida!

What authors, or books have influenced you?

What are you working on now?
I am a speaker and trainer and love sharing my tips with people and inspiring them. I also want to develop a series of short video trainings for more happiness.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I believe it is important to get good reviews on Amazon and GoodReads. Tell everyone about your book and use social media. If you are passionate about your book, you should share, share and share!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Make a plan and get a buddy or a coach to help you move things along.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don't try to make it perfect, just get your ideas on paper and then you can make it better.

What are you reading now?
101 Self-Coaching by Brooke Castillo.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will make a workbook to accompany my book.

What is your favorite book of all time?
I named 2 of my favorite books in a previous question: Awaken the Giant Within and The Way We're Working Isn't Working…on a much lighter note, I loved the whole Shopaholic series!

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I'm a stay at home dad and freelance writer. Most of my work is found on major websites with no name attached.

As for fiction I've written eight novels: Attacked Beneath Antarctica is the fifth I've published under my own name, and the seventh novel I've written. The eighth is about to move into pre-production. In addition to my own works I've also ghostwritten two novelizations.

My first two published novels were Amadar, a heroic fantasy, and Price of Imperium, which is space opera. I'm currently in the process of getting new covers for both, and may eventually write sequels.

Most of my current work is the Doc Vandal series, which is my own take on a Doc Savage-inspired pulp adventure series with the dial turned up a few notches in the direction of super-science and a solid helping of talking gorillas for seasoning. It's my way of sharing my love of the pulps and 1930s science ficiton with more current sensibilities.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Attacked Beneath Antarctica, which is the third in my Doc Vandal pulp adventure series. The inspiration for this one was H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness. I loved the idea of a lost alien city in Antarctica, so I came up with my own spin on the concept.

It was written as a fun pulp adventure at the South Pole with everything from Zeppelins, to submarines, talking gorillas, alien invaders, and of course Nazis. They make such great villains for 1930s adventures.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don't know; not unless you consider that I do most of my writing in Scrivener on my Mac or iPad, but I'm primarily a Windows user.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
It's almost too many to mention, but here are a few: Robert E. Howard, E.E. "Doc" Smith, Fritz Leiber, Pat Conroy, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Lester Dent, and H.P. Lovecraft.

What are you working on now?
Right now, I'm working on the fifth Doc Vandal adventure, The Sunkiller Affair. I've finished the fourth, Giant Robots of Tunguska, and am getting ready to put it in the publication pipeline.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
In the past it's been word of mouth. Historically I haven't been the world's best promoter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
For new self-publishing authors, I say get a good cover and pay the artist. For new writers, I say sit down and do the writing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Fiction is Folks, it's a writing book by Robert Newton Peck, and it's a daily reminder that all stories are about people. If you can get your readers interested in your characters, you have them hooked.

What are you reading now?
Pat Savage: Six Scarlet Scorpions.

I'm also reading a lot of comics.

What’s next for you as a writer?
To write and publish more. I have lots of stories to tell. I need to finish the current Doc book and somewhere carve out time for at least three unrelated stories.

What is your favorite book of all time?
Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Dan Burley, and I am mostly a mystery author (though I have other things in the pipeline that aren’t). Beyond that, I am a musician and artist. I’ve written five full-length books to date (and am in the early stages of a couple of others); Two of which are on sale now, two of which will be on sale later in the year, and the last of which will be on sale early next year.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called “Teenage Female”, and it was inspired by a lot of things. The most paramount among them being the idea of simply giving people a chance. Not just writing someone off because they seem like a lost cause on paper. I’ve seen it far too often in my own life, and I thought it was the right type of story to tell with this particular character in this particular universe.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
That’s really hard to say. I mean, everything I do seems pretty natural to me, so I probably wouldn’t really be the best person to ask.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’d say Kurt Vonnegut and Stephen King are probably the greatest literary influences on my work. However, the biggest would be manga author Eiichiro Oda, creator of “One Piece”. His knack for emotional storytelling has had a very direct impact on my own work.

Beyond that, my biggest inspirations come from filmed entertainment and music.

What are you working on now?
I am currently editing the sequel to “Bully For You”, my first novel, as well as putting the finishing touches on editing my next release following “Teenage Female” (a book I’ll be formally announcing later this month).

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Honestly, I really couldn’t tell you that. I’m still testing a lot of those waters yet. However, I will say probably nothing beats good old fashioned word of mouth.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes; Write your story your way. Write it honestly and to the best of your abilities. Write the story you want to read.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
It’s not book related, but not to fret over clean line work. It’s really freeing!

What are you reading now?
I’ve got two books I’m looking to dig into really soon, both by fellow indie authors. One is “Now That We’re Adults” by Lynn Almengor, and the other is “A Space Girl From Earth” by Christina McMullen. I started both, but had to put them down in order to get my own work done on schedule. Hopefully I’ll get to them by the end of the year!

What’s next for you as a writer?
Well, I’m knee-deep in a fairly lengthy book series right now, and it will be taking up all my writing time through next year. Most of the other stories I have in the pipeline are stand alone novels and novellas, and I don’t plan on starting earnest work on them until I have a certain number of the “Harper” series books out.

What is your favorite book of all time?
Gin to my head, it’s probably “Cat’s Cradle” by Kurt Vonnegut or something like that. I try not to really worry about favorites, honestly. There’s a lot of wonderful stuff out there, and I’m rarely comfortable with hard favorites as a result.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Denmark in 1976, but ever since I was a kid, I've been facinated with the USA and the English language. Hence, I write all my books in English, although some have been translated to Danish. I've written six published books – one only as a eBook, and the rest as both eBook and printed books. Four of the books are in English, two in Danish. (One is a translation of one of the English ones, and one is a novella that, unfortunately, is only available in Danish. It was a winner in a contest, and I wasn't allowed to do the English version.)
I've written a lot of different things – from straight fiction to sci-fi to horror and supernatural thriller. Each book is usually different.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
"Tempus Investigations – Season One" is my latest book in English. It is a brand new genre – a TV series in book form. This is not to say that it's written as a script, but that it's a fiction story written to resemble a TV show. Each story is an episode, and the book is the entire season. Just like in a show, you can read the individiual episodes – but there is a story arc that spans the entire season.
The idea was inspired by the thought of fan fiction – how people sit down and imagine stories that never happened on screen. I began to think what it would be like if you wrote fan fiction for something that didn't exist. How would that work? So I began playing around with it, and Tempus Investigations was the result.
It's the story of Jim Corrigan, an immortal detective, living and working in San Fransisco. He and his team deals with all sorts of supernatural threats and cases – from mad angels and homocidal spirits to holes in time. The book is very similar in style to series like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Angel" and "Supernatural."
As far as the reviews go, it seems I've literally created a new genre – it is the first time a TV series exists only in book form…

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I listen to 1960's Rock'n'roll while I write. Usually on an internet radio station so i never have to change CD's.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King is probably my biggest influence. He's in my mind the best author in today's market, and his book "On Writing" taught me most of the tools of the trade. The other authors I've been inspired by are mostly Danish authors Knud Holten and Dennis Jürgensen.
Basically, I'm facinated by authors who wants to tell a good story. I don't like a lot of the "This is the story, but what I'm really trying to say is this…"-fiction that I know is very popular. The story should be in the front seat, and everything else should be locked in the trunk. So I've always loved to read a book that is just pure story.

What are you working on now?
Right now, I'm putting the finishing touches on my next short story collection, "The Tucson Time Traveler". It's a sci-fi/horror collection, and I'm very excited about it.
I'm also working very hard on season two of Tempus Investigations. It looks like season two will be six episodes long (the first one was four).

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I do a lot of facebook ads and boosts. I've also got both my own official facebook and my own website where I often put freebies up.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
It's tough to be a writer, because very few people will be able to give you honest feedback. If you find some good beta readers, hold on to them and listen to what they say.
Keep writing. Even when it's hard, even when it sucks. Keep the story going. If you don't know where it is supposed to go, let your characters talk to each other. Write dialogue until you have an idea of what to do next.
If you want to write, don't give up. Today, you are no longer limited by the traditional publishers, you can self-publish, self-market, everything. If the traditional publishers keep rejecting you, try doing it yourself and see if it sells. At least you will have the satisfaction of looking at your own book and knowing you did it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
"Write less like the people you admire, and more like yourself."

What are you reading now?
I've just finished Justin Cronin's "The Passage" trilogy (The Passage, The Twelve and City of Mirrors) and I'm halfway through a very interesting book called "The Lost City of Z" by David Grann.

What’s next for you as a writer?
When I've finished season two of Tempus Investigations, I want to do something different. I've just written sci-fi, so maybe I'll try fantasy. But it all depends on the ideas I get. Sometimes I'm surprised by what pops into my head, and where that story wants to go.

What is your favorite book of all time?
That's a very tough question. I would probably go with "The complete casebook of Sherlock Holmes", containing the full canon of Holmes stories. I've probably read that book more times than any other. Even though it's now considered period litterature, back then, Holmes was cutting edge and considered very cool. I've always considered him my favorite fictional character.
A close second would be "The Hyperion Cantos" by Dan Simmons, which is the most amazing and incredible sci-fi story ever written.

April D Brown

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
April Brown's fascination with history, science, and social science lead her on a quest to uncover forgotten societal mythology. New solutions to old queries will be uncovered in the future, through studies of the past. Her novels and novellas, while adventures, are written in a more classical style, without extreme action, romance, or violence. Characters think before they act. Sometimes, this leads to trouble.

Her nonfiction is often written at the request of others. Gluten (and allergy) free cookbooks, include tips for tricks for people with multiple common disabilities, including poor memory, low vision, and limited dexterity. Journey Through Life Lists was written at the request of friends with serious memory loss planning their future, and desperate to remember their past. VoiceOver with the Brailliant Braille Display was designed for personal use, when there was no written manual for learning to use a screen reader for the first time as a middle aged adult.

The clear path April Brown dreamed of as a child had roadblocks no one could foresee. Of those, the loss of memory caused far more concern, than the loss of hearing and vision. Deafblind and doing fine, most of the time. After all, vision, and hearing, can be internal, as well as external. With the help of her husband, cats, and dogs, she wanders along the path that unfolds slowly before her. The one she tried to push away as a teen. Writing doesn't come as easy now as then. Though, it seems far more impactful. Full of hidden vision, wonder, and forgotten sounds and odors.

Short Fiction:
Crosswinds: Past, Present, and Future Combine
Life After Life: Three Paranormal Short Stories

Fiction:
Bending the Bars
Coffee, Tea, and Gluten Free: The Novel
The Stork Mis-Delivered – Twice

Check out her social media pages for the latest up to date information on her journey through writing while deafblind. What myths will she uncover next?

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Journey Through Life Lists was inspired by real life struggles with memory loss, blindness, and deafness while trying to keep track of vital records, including medical, financial, and personal.

I often re-read using braille.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Charles Dickens, Louisa May Alcott, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Orson Scott Card, Robert Asprin, Terry Brooks, and many more.

A compilation of science fiction short stories.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Someone wants to read your stories.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Alicia McKenzie. I was born in New York City. I loves all things literary. My twin sister and I run an independent publishing company called AlTaMiRa Books. I've written 20 children's books so far, with several more in the works. I have a Master's in Professional Writing and a Bachelor's in English. I'm glad to put my education to use.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I am working on a short story collection called Leaves. It was inspired by an art project I completed in 10th grade, that was probably my best work of art. Sadly, I threw all my artwork away before I went to college, not realizing I would miss them. So this book is a tribute to growing up and moving on from the past.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I collect seldom-used words from the Merriam-Webster's Dictionary app and create concepts around them to include in my story lines. It is fun and a creative way to put advanced vocabulary in my works.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am most inspired by JK Rowling's Harry Potter series. I am also influenced by CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia and JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a science fantasy trilogy, inspired by my interests in magic and outer space.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I recently discovered that Instagram is great. I was reluctant to join, but there are so many people and businesses that are hard to find online that you can come across on this app. I highly recommend connecting with authors and literary

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing! That's how we get great books to read. Don't worry if you think it's not good enough. Just get it done and revise it!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Jesus said "Don't worry about your life!"

What are you reading now?
I am reading three books: Wild by Cheryl Strayed, The Two Towers by JRR Tolkien and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am finishing up the editing and revision process for my first novel. I plan to send out queries to get a literary agent for my fantasy series.

What is your favorite book of all time?
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Romania (yep, Dracula's country!) in 1992. As a curious kid, I devoured every book I could on Greek, Roman, Ancient Egyptian mythology. I studied university in political science and languages. I speak five of them: french, english, romanian, italian, Spanish… It was my fascination with the mythologies and languages that led to a VERY overactive imagination from a young age.

As I moved to Canada and headed into school here, life challenges and experiences meant I needed to express myself, and writing became the way. I currently have four books out, two series.

The Avalon Chronicles is a retelling of the Arthurian legend, though mine focuses on the obscure character of the Lady of the Lake and her struggles both in the past and present.

The Sage's Legacy, book 1 was the first novel I wrote at a young age. I then wrote the second, and pretty much watched them collect dust until I got back into writing in university. It follows the saga of Freya and Brennan, two teenagers with mythical powers and clashing personalities that have to save the world from ghosts.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Dragon Manuscript, book 2 of the Sage's Legacy, is the continuation of Freya's story (and struggle). This entire series was slightly inspired by events from my youth. Freya's character is very similar to my own, but she acts tougher in certain situations. My dogs are a constant inspiration for animal companions in the books I write, and Freya's familiar is just one of the results 🙂

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write at night. I've tried writing in daytime and I can't focus, but at nighttime, everything comes flowing. I can spend allnighters on my books without feeling the fatigue from it!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Growing up, I read Alexandre Dumas and Christian Jacq in my formative years of 8-12yrs old. Then I moved on to JK Rowling, P.C. Cast's "Goddess" series, other YA novels, and eventually to adult thrillers like James Patterson and James Rollins. I have to say the mythology books read when I was young were a great influence on me.

What are you working on now?
The final installments in my two series; Avalon Nightmares and The Relics of the Underworld. This will wrap up The Avalon Chronicles and The Sage's Legacy series, leaving me to move on to other untested landscapes!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I can't say that I have one… Still on the learning curve 🙂

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be ready to put in extra hours for marketing! Have a plan. And stay optimistic ! But most of all…save your money. Don't jump steps and go buying fancy equipment, extra ads, etc. To write, all you need is paper and a pen – or a computer if you're new-school. Find a quiet spot, block out the rest of the world, and get lost in your own 🙂 Oh and most of all…Your friends are not your clients. You need to think big!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A kick in the butt is a step forward – it sounds a lot better in Romanian 🙂

What are you reading now?
James Rollins – Alter of Eden, a mix of suspense, history, thriller… His books give me chills!

What’s next for you as a writer?
After finishing the two series I currently have, I have a few standalone novels to follow:
A regular romance coming up for December 2017, of a heiress who struggles to stay out of the spotlight, the man she fell for, and the Mafia that hunts them both.
A new adult paranormal novel whose main character is also a strong heroine, but with her own set of problems, leading her to be a bit of an anti-hero type. This one is dear to my heart because it will be set in Romania, with elements of Romanian folklore and myths within.
A new series on werewolves, a novella for Alistair's character from The Avalon Chronicles andddd… Well, the ideas are plenty 🙂

What is your favorite book of all time?
Kane and Abel – Jeffrey Archer
It mixes history, romance and drama in a wonderfully packed combination, and to this day has marked me when I read it.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a nationally-recognized strategic leadership coach, author, motivational speaker, retreat facilitator, and executive search consultant with over 35 years of experience leading, connecting with, and inspiring organizations in the nonprofit and medical industries. I am an expert in board governance, leadership development, philanthropy, and succession planning, and work with leaders of nonprofit organizations that want a more motivated and cohesive board and inspirational leadership that provides a more engaged strategic vision. I have written five books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called A Guide to Recruiting Your Next CEO: The Executive Search Handbook for Nonprofit Boards. The positive social impact that the nonprofit sector has in our society is very important to me. Seeing the baby boomer trends in professionals retiring and the need for new leaders with new competencies and skills to step forward, I saw firsthand the number of great nonprofit boards struggle with the issues of recruiting their next CEO. I thought this book would help contribute to their success by providing a roadmap forward.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think I have any “unusual” writing habits, but I do know that my biggest challenge is starting the first paragraph in each chapter. It all starts with a blank piece of paper. After a few starts, my writing begins to flow and the rest of each chapter follows easily thereafter.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
The one book that really inspired me many decades ago was Profiles in Courage by JFK, our former president. His book inspired me to dream to someday write down some notes that might mean something important to others. There are many other contemporary writers on the nonprofit sector also inspire me. Dan Pallotta, Steve MacLaughlin, Jason Saul and Heather Mansfield are also inspiring writers for the social impact sector.

What are you working on now?
Not officially started, but beginning to do research on writing a new book about encouraging young men and women to pursue careers in the nonprofit sector at an earlier age. There is great opportunity to both do something socially impactful and good for your family’s economy. It bothers me that not enough of educational institutions do not focus on this. I was the founder of the Center for Excellence: Leadership, Governance and Philanthropy at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, but we need more undergraduate and graduate schools in this area and more high school guidance counselors to “wake up” and promote careers in the nonprofit sector too.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think posting on social media with LinkedIn and email distribution through Constant Contact has been my best way in the past to promote books, but not sure. That’s why I hired my publisher.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, do it, write a lot. Whether fiction or nonfiction. Be determined to succeed, don’t get discouraged in the publishing world. Do it for the love of it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Best advice I ever got was to ask for advice and not a job when I came out of graduate school. I asked for advice and got a job.

What are you reading now?
The Power Formula for LinkedIn Success, Wayne Breitbarth.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Relax for a week or two. Continue to write articles, blogs and books that hopefully inspire others to make a difference in the lives of others.

What is your favorite book of all time?
Profiles in Courage, by John F. Kennedy

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
He is the Pastor of Kings Abode Church with a call to nurture divinity in the life of the Saints. He is an anointed preacher-teacher and a prolific writer loaded with insight from God's word and the way forward for the 21st-century church of God. He has written unpublished books like Hospitals were not made for Christians, the victory of Zion, etc. Only one of his books has been published and the title is the Divine nature of God

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first book release is titled: the divine nature of God (Know GOd: be god)In 2008 shortly after I was ordained; I was seeking admission to study Masters of Divinity which was unsuccessful in all my attempts. So I kept praying to the Lord for direction then one day, I heard him speak to me. I want you to write about my nature. So I said, God, I wanted to go study divinity you didn’t let me now you want me to write about your divine nature? But as the voice was strong I bought a book and titled it the Divine Nature of God. Then the Lord started showing me things about him from the scriptures and I was writing. So I wrote the first for chapters then he stopped. Then I stayed for two more years. So in 2010 I started writing and finished the book in 2011. This book was born out of a period of suffering and divine revelation in my life. It is not just a literal exposition of the Bible. Rather it is the communication of the spirit and power of God’s nature to his children so that at the end they will be truly transformed to be like him.
This book was therefore written because God wanted to reintroduce Himself to His church in a way that they can know him as he wants them to know Him in the 21st century. Therefore, in it is written the revelation of an understanding of how God wants the church to know him to the end that they all become like him according to experience and perfection. It is written the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Hence can we not conclude that the church of God is limited today in the world not by the strength of the Devil or their enemies but by the lack of the true knowledge of their God and his will for their lives?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am a natural writer, however, I must confess I am not the day-in-day-out kind of writer. I usually will sit and write for four to six hours because I usually do not like thought-flow-breaks. However, I will not begin my writing without outlining my main chapter headings. While writing, if there are any quotes or images that come to mind I usually will just note them down for later.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
When I think about favorites, I have many who come to mind, however, The Believer's Authority by Kenneth E. Hagin just stands out for me. Also when I think of the Book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki nothing can beat the transformational ideas I got from that book

What are you working on now?
I am working on a Book release titled Hospital were not made for Christians. In this book, I am talking about a new kind of faith that will take Christians from hospital dependence to a completely sickness free life forever.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This website for me is the best for self-publishers, not because it promotes books but that I found it very resourceful when I was looking for great information about marketing promotion. http://www.shelleyhitz.com

Do you have any advice for new authors?
My Advice is for Christian authors. From my observation, there is a lot of consolatory writing in the body of Christ. writing about a tragic experience you suffered and using it to encourage others is great. However, I think our generation needs to hear from real winners to move forward. So let us work hard to bring our faith to the place of victory so we can actually show the world what we believe is possible.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be a leader by example

What are you reading now?
Based on the fact that my focus is on organizations, right now I am reading SCRUM by Jeff Sutherland. it's good one for those who like changing ineffective norms

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am working on Public speaking and looking for such opportunities to share my concept of Christian revolution.

What is your favorite book of all time?
When I think about favorites, I have many who come to mind, however, The Believer's Authority by Kenneth E. Hagin just stands out for me.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write Australian Historical Romances, each filled with passion, deceit and murder. I currently have 8 books published.

I encompasses much of my own families history into my books, as well as setting most of them in my home town in North Queensland, Australia.

I am happily married to my childhood sweetheart and soulmate and living in North Queensland.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest release, Heart of Stone, is slightly different from my other books.
The idea for this book came from the unspoken history of blackbirding in our area of Australia. For those that don’t know, blackbirding was the title given to the slave trade in Australia’s past, mostly dealing with the islanders called Kanakas that were forcibly brought into the country.
The main female character in the book is in fact an Irish slave, another scandalous past of Australian history.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have plenty! I hum weird kids Tv show tunes when I'm stuck on a part of a book. I also tend to talk to my characters when they aren't doing as they're supposed to – which is most of the time.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I take inspiration from so many authors. My greatest influence would still have to be Amanda Quick, but there are so many other brilliant authors out there that I have read or read interviews of that have influenced the writer I am today.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on Lust & Chastity which is due for release in October. It's the first book in my Sins of the Virtuous series. It tells the tale of two young lovers almost torn apart by their migration to Australia, only to be joined together in the search for the obsessed murder hunting the heroine.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My own

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don't give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That even a bad first draft is better then a blank page.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Heart of Stone is out in a few days. Lust & Chastity is out in a few weeks. Indulgence & Temperance is under contract and I'm currently working on the rest of my series.

What is your favorite book of all time?
To Kill a Mockingbird.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written and published one book. I love to write, and I have kept a journal since I was twelve. I never thought I would pursue a career as a writer, but it seems to be the only work that I enjoy doing. I want to have rich conversations, and a book is the best ice-breaker!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Punk Love Foucault, inspired by my ridiculously difficult life. I decided to write a story about growing-up on the outskirts of society, what being transgender really means in terms of self-esteem and social trouble. I wanted people to understand that they can relate to queer stories because everyone is pressured to conform, regardless of identity.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
It depends on how you define "unusual." I think smoking and drinking coffee are pretty normal, for a writer. But, on occasion, my step-daughter will read my book ideas and then write her own short stories to help jump-start my creativity… the sky is the limit to a kid, and bees shooting laser beams and then having a disco party is a wonderful backdrop to my work.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I come from a queer theory background, and I haven't read much in the way of fiction. My authors are philosophers like Michel Foucault and Ladelle McWhorter. I also like the dystopic poetry of Susan Stryker.

What are you working on now?
Something along the lines of Ursula K. Le Guin's "Left Hand of Darkness." I want a story that upends the gender norm, making it "abnormal" to be gendered like most people are on Earth. So, I guess, sci-fi fantasy with a queer theory bent.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I blog on WordPress, and it's free, so it's my favorite, but I doubt it's the most lucrative.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yeah, do more interviews. People want to know who wrote what and why.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do it, even if you think you can't. Someone will appreciate it.

What are you reading now?
Neil Gaiman and David Tuckerman.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Winning the Pulitzer Prize.

What is your favorite book of all time?
The Body in Pain, published 1985.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first novel and it is part of a series that is one long story. It will have two further books, both of which are in varying stages of development. I have written other things, however, those are more on the technical side in science.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Life We Lead: Ascending. This book is actually inspired by real life events. I took the time to hide the events and changed time lines but all in all it is a story based, in part, in true reality.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to get my best writing done on airplanes. I have just enough space using a keyboard on my ipad and type into the note pad.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
In terms of my writing style, not sure that many have. In terms of what a story should be I would say Where the Red Fern Grows, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, The Harry Potter Series, The Sherlock Holmes series to name a few.

What are you working on now?
The second (and technically the third) book in the series. I have been writing this story in my head for 25 years and know the whole thing, now it is just getting it out on paper.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Two things:
1. Just start writing. It doesn't have to be anything you will keep. I started writing back stories to characters just to get the 'juices flowing". It was advice I got and helps tremendously in starting out.
2. Write for YOU. Don't write for anyone else. It is your story, make it something you like.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Giuseppe Prota and I'm a self-development enthusiast.
I just released my first book, Do Work You Love: How to Find Your Passion and Build Long-Term Self Motivation.

Since I was a teenager I've always been curious to understand how happiness works. After moving from Italy to Belgium to complete my studies, I started working as a Supply chain professional.
In the meanwhile I've kept researching and introspecting to improve my personal happiness, focusing on my Life purpose discovery.

In fact, I've always dreamed to align my passion with my career or business.

Having struggled with it myself, I gradually developed a passion for helping people find work that matters to them while discovering and using their full potential.
This is why in August 2017 I started Design Your Passion as a way to share my knowledge about the topic.

I love educating and inspiring people to expand their consciousness and live the life of their dreams in practical ways.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called Do Work You Love: How to Find Your Passion and Build Long-Term Self Motivation

Every day I look around, starting from my family, friends, colleagues, and see that people are just reacting to life. They’re not CREATING their life. This is what was happening to me before realizing that something big was missing in my life. I’ve always dreamed to have a job aligned with my passion, a work that I could love. So I started researching, following several mentors, reading books, doing exercises…all in order to find my Life purpose, that is: the most important thing I could be doing on this planet.
I hear too often that “work is not something you’re supposed to enjoy, it’s just work”. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to write this book.
Specifically, I wrote this book to help you find the work that matters for you. I’m not talking about spiritual or abstract things: I’m talking about work. The work, the art that you can create to have a great impact on the world.

What are you working on now?
I'm working on my website, social media and blog. Also, I want to translate my book in Italian and French, as well as create a paperback and audio version.
Next, I will transform the book content into a video course.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social media

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing daily if possible, to develop a habit and love for writing. Write what people WANTS to read (not what they need to read) but don't forget your true passion. In other words, find a balance.
Also, believe in yourself and commit yourself to mastery, which requires patience and a lot of practice. Stay away from whoever tells you that success comes easily and quickly.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Focus on the one thing and do it. Don't get distracted by all other things you could be doing with your business. Focus on becoming a master at writing if that's what you're passionate about.

What are you reading now?
The purple cow

What’s next for you as a writer?
Become better and better at writing + find ways to get to know my audience

What is your favorite book of all time?
Mastery (George Leonard)
