Vitaly Buchatsky, married with two children, holds a bachelor's degree in medical engineering and is a project manager at a start-up company that develops medical devices. Even before his first son was born, he realized that his work did not allow him much time at home. So he decided to study parenting. He read thousands of articles, hundreds of books, listened to lectures, went to workshops, and found that almost none of the experts talked about the connection between adult development and child development. In addition, no one gave a simple practical explanation on how to create a strong connection with our children, even if you only spend an hour a day together.
When his son was a year old, he decided to begin sharing his conclusions on Facebook. Within six months he had 60,000 followers. Today, with over 100,000 followers, he decided to publish his first book based on his Facebook articles. At the same time, he founded the Success Diary in which the parent and / or the child write what they have accomplished each day. "Success is not always important", he explains, "the path is important. And the diary is about the path."
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
"How to raise happy children", is a practical guide book for parents, offering advice, examples and exercises, on how to empower children to realize their own unique qualities and achieve their goals and dreams in a creative and fun way. Written as a ‘coffee-table’ book readers need not go through the book from beginning to end, rather they can flip through and pick up tips on any page.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
"How to Raise Happy Kids" is written in a simple, straightforward style, from one parent to another and without trying to educate. It also includes material that can help parents and children cope with everyday challenges.
Based on the idea that you shouldn’t “educate” your children, as they will turn out to be just like you anyway, but rather educate yourself to set a personal example, the book can serve as a basis for initiating behavioral change between parents, and between parents and their children.
