Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello! Greetings from Wyoming! I am an academic by day and a Romance writer by night! I have more than a dozen published romances 🙂
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
" "Wine Thief" is my latest book in my Resort Romance Series! Each book in my Resort Romance series, published by Hot Tree Publishing, has represented a part of my battle with breast cancer. For me, Wine Thief was about having the courage to finish what I started. It is a story about life after cancer, for me and for the heroine. It's probably the funniest and tear worthy book I've written in the series.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My phone. I write a lot of chapters on my cell. I can't edit myself or be critical. The space is just too small! Typing a story in the notes section on my cell is the most freeing way for me to write. And, I can do it anywhere!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My father, Bill Billiter.
Toni Morrison, "The Bluest Eye"
Tawni O'Dell "Back Roads"
What are you working on now?
Be ready to head to the Long Beach Point Resort in Southern California for a high stakes mystery at a high rise hotel! "The Changeup" is coming this October 2018!!!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Kindness and paying it forward. I know that's not what you're expecting but I am mindful to be kind in promoting my work and others work. The universe is big enough for all of us. This year, I have chosen to "Choose to Shine" and that means shining light on others. So..whether it's a post on Facebook,Instagram, or a Tweet – I try to promote authors I admire and those that are just starting out. I'm not perfect at it, but I make an effort to be mindful of others and not just me!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Listen to your publisher. They know the market. They know what will sell and what won't. Offer suggestions, but ultimately trust your publisher they want you to succeed.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
What are you reading now?
If You Knew My Sister
What’s next for you as a writer?
Paris, baby. I'm headed there in less than a week and I plan on visiting a lot of castles and places to inspire my next romance!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Time Traveler's Wife
