Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I've been a writer for over 45 years now and have had 26 novels and 12 short stories published since 1984. I write horror/romantic time-travel, suspense, romance, thrillers and murder mysteries. My horror novel The Last Vampire and my thriller Dinosaur Lake (360 Reviews; 4.1 star average) were both EPIC EBOOK AWARDS *Finalists* in 2012 and 2014. My Spookie Town Murder Mysteries and my Dinosaur Lake series are my best sellers. Kathryn Meyer Griffith rdgriff@htc.net http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B001KHIXNS

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest published novel is Witches II: Apocalypse. It's my 26th published book and it has a strange story. My original Witches was my fifth published novel way back in 1993 and was a mass market Zebra paperback. It took me 24 years to finally write and publish this sequel. Well, I was busy writing 21 other novels. I actually began writing this sequel about 11 years ago (got about 1/3 done) and decided not to give it to my at-the-time legacy publisher. I was sick of getting 6% royalties. Last year I found the partial manuscript and thought, now that I self-publish, I'll finish it. And so I did. Besides publishing the sequel as a stand alone book, I also packaged the first Witches with the second one for a double book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I've been writing now for over 45 years and began writing on an electric typewriter…I like laptops much better. I do like to sit on my comfy sofa, laptop in my lap, with the TV down low and a cup of coffee beside me when I write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King, Ann Rice, Dean Koontz, Rod Sterling and Ray Bradbury.

What are you working on now?
In between books because I JUST finished Witches II: Apocalypse. I'm thinking of writing a 4th Spookie Town Murder Mystery, though. Hmmm, searching for the plot now.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I post my free books (I always have a few free for promotion) on all the FREE sites I can. Also Facebook and I twitter a lot.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you're truly a writer it will come as second nature and you'll fight through all the troubles that will come your way. You'll never give up and you'll be happy on the journey alone; not just want fame and fortune (believe me, those are both often elusive- after 45 years of writing, and all the ups and downs of the publishing world and life, I should know). You'll be content when you're writing and whatever comes from it will be fine.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up…persistence is often the key and…a writer WRITES.

What are you reading now?
My brother Jonathan G. Meyer's SF 4th novel Vincent. (Yes, my younger brother is also a writer…more of a SF writer than I am. I have always written more paranormal, horror, time-travel and murder mysteries. And he started publishing late in life three years ago, at 60 years old.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I'm not really sure…after 45 years writing, 26 novels and 12 short stories published since 1984, and all I've gone through, at my age, time and life has become so precious. I want to have more fun now (with my retired husband, Russell), travel and be with my family and friends. So maybe I will write a 27th novel…maybe.

What is your favorite book of all time?
The Door Into Summer by Ray Bradbury. I cried when the cat was left behind in time in the alley. (I was really young but it made me realize the power of a writer and the written word.)
