I am a screenwriter, producer, and director from Chicago, IL. My very first work of nonfiction was published on September 3, 2018.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book is titled The Making of Dual Mania: Filmmaking Chicago Style. Co-written by B..J. Patterson and Cat Ellington, the book was inspired by the motion picture Dual Mania, of which I am the writer, producer, and director.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I tend to write both my screenplays and my manuscripts in all caps.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
John le Carré, Issac Asimov, Harlan Ellison, James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates, and many others.
What are you working on now?
I am in the process of writing the foreword for Reviews by Cat Ellington: The Complete Anthology, Vol. 3.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I love the promotional tools offered by Amazon, Goodreads, AUTHORSdb, and BookBub.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, I do. Believe in yourself and keep going forward. Because persistence ALWAYS pays off.

'Never give up when pursuing your dreams.'

What’s next for you as a writer?
To complete the final draft on an untitled screenplay.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That's a difficult question to answer because there are so many books that I love. But besides the Holy Bible, I would have to say that my favorite book of all time is Another Country by James Baldwin.
