Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hey there! I'm Jennifer–wife, mama, empty-nester, and avid coffee drinker. I have two books currently published, a book that will release next month, and a book I am currently writing. I live in the country of South Carolina, where I am active in my local church as a Sunday school teacher and music director. And I love Jesus!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Let's Run! Running the Race with Faith and Perseverance, a 6-week Bible study on the heroes of faith in Hebrews. I was inspired by my high school class whom I wanted to encourage that you don't have to be perfect to run your race for the Lord–you just have to be faithful.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My writing habit is to study the passage of Scripture, pray for insight, think about the reader and their needs, make it practical and useful, and then trust God!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been greatly inspired by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kelly Minter. Their Bible studies have made a huge impact on my life, and I want to be able to inspire my readers to serve Jesus as well.
What are you working on now?
My current project is a one-year devotion on the poetry books of the Bible: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. Spending time with God every day is what changed my life, and I want to help others do the same.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have a blog on which I try to offer valuable content each week to keep readers engaged and encouraged. I also use AMS and Facebook ads.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Self-publishing school is hands-down the best publishing decision I have ever made.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep your reader in mind while you write.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading The Auschwitz Escape by Joel C. Rosenberg. He is my favorite author, and that is the only book he's written that I have left to read. By the way, I met him and got it personally autographed, so that was pretty cool!
What’s next for you as a writer?
My next release on Amazon is Inside Out and Upside Down, a 7-week Bible study on the difference between religion and relationship and the difference between the culture and the kingdom.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Narnia Chronicles by C. S. Lewis
