Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I'm a college student, a published author, and a pancake enthusiast. I've written and published three books now: one inspirational novella and two superhero novels.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Lightporter, and it's the sequel to my first superhero novel, Twinepathy. This series was partly inspired by Marvel, partly by the Twinepathy Challenge on Youtube, and partly by my own ideas about superheroes!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love to write to movie soundtracks. A few of my favorites are the Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Thor: Ragnarok soundtracks. I feel like it adds that extra emotion to my writing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Definitely The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Those are books I grew up reading, along with The Chronicles of Narnia. I feel like my love for those books has helped me understand what works and what doesn't when writing.
What are you working on now?
Right now I'm working on the third book in the IDIA series, Forcefield, along with a Christmas superhero short story. I'm very excited about both books!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I love using my blog because it allows me to write longer posts and collaborate with other authors. Plus, I can change the design if I ever want to!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Work with other authors as much as you can! It helps to have author friends who will help you promote your books, and don't be afraid to talk to authors who are more experienced than you. They're people, too!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
This is probably one of my favorite pieces of advice: "Every word you write is one step closer to your book being finished and published." That's such an encouragement for me every day to keep writing.
What are you reading now?
Right now I'm in the middle of several books, but the most recent one is The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine. It's a really interesting book, and the sister bond is really great as well.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I'm not entirely sure! I don't know what God has in store next, but I plan to follow His guidance. I'm hoping several more IDIA books, but we'll see!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Definitely The Lord of the Rings! It's such a great adventure story, with so many themes and exciting fights! The characters are so well developed, and there is so much packed into the pages of the book. Not to mention how awesome Tolkien is at foreshadowing!
