Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a lifelong resident of the beautiful state of Maryland. I currently live in Baltimore with my two children. I have been a public school teacher in the DMV (that's DC, Maryland, Virginia area for the non DMV folk) for 17 years. I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, riding horses, napping (if napping could be a competitive sport, I'd win), and eating Maryland blue crabs with friends. I have published one novel and I am a co-author of a second non-fiction book. I am currently working on my second novel.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
…So She Walked Away is my first novel. I was inspired by several factors. First, I wondered if I could write a book, so I decided to give it a try. When it came time to pick a topic, I went with inspiration from my own life. I was a divorced mom trying to figure out the new world of dating, and I used the internet to meet men. Although my story is most certainly not Desiree's story, I certainly met some great guys, and I certainly met a few that I am certain to avoid.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I am trying to visualize how a chapter is going to be laid out, I meditate with crystals to visualize it. Like a scene in a movie playing in my head.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Richie Tankersley Cusick, Stephen King, Bernice L. McFadden to name a few.
What are you working on now?
I haven't fully chosen a title yet, so I won't name it, but I will tell you a little about it. My new novel is about a woman in her early thirties who discovers that she was kidnapped as a child, and the story of the woman who kidnapped her. I'm having such a great time developing the characters and I can't wait to see the reader reactions when it's released.
