Tell us about yourself.:
I am a very creative person and also a scientist. So, I consider myself a NEW Renaissance woman. In the old one, we didn't get much of a look in, did we?! So ladies, let's go, go, go!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?:
I grew up in California, but was soon travelling the world. Very much a free spirit. I now live in Australia. In a forest. I was always attched to nature, always outside. My family has a musical background, so music is also a big part of me and my writing.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I want to write richly realised and highly evocative fiction. I listen to instrumental music so my imagination can take flight. There are no words to tell me what to think. I sometimes watch birds flying for the same reason. Wow, do I go places!!!
What authors have influenced you?

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Believe in yourself and your creation. Don't ever let anyone put you down. Find help from experienced writers who are also good people.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Be who you are. And BE!
What are you reading now?
The Grand Ellipse, by Paula Volsky
What’s your biggest weakness?
Inability to focus and be organised. At times.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Dargo, Eco Hero!
When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?
Playing or listening to music. Creating wildlife habitat. Enjoying the company of my family (my husband and my dog), snorkelling, exploring grand buildings. Reading fabulous fiction!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. Actually, my brother read it to me. He got me well and truly hooked on reading!
What has inspired you and your writing style?
Everything. I'm very eclectic. I love exploring the real and imaginary world, and the boundaries the flex between them. I espeically like exploring old cities and towns at night, when everyone's gone home.
What are you working on now?
A new series of romantic adventures set in various world locales and time periods. The first is set in British Colonial India.
What is your favorite method for promoting your work?
Making live performances based on my books.
Direct contact with people who are looking for genre-specific books.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I'm looking forward to presenting at a writing summer school and a writers' festival.
And, helping a 92-year old to finish her first novel. YAY!
How well do you work under pressure?
I dont work under pressure. It's not fair to pressure someone. It causes stress and stress leads to disease.
How do you decide what tone to use with a particular piece of writing?
I imagine it. I imagine it all. I am there. I am that character. I hear that character. I often listen to two characters, listen to what they are saying, before I write their scene.
If you could share one thing with your fans, what would that be?
This quote from my lovely J. T. Gordon, Esq. ,one of my characters from The Palace of the Stars: "Don't measure your time in minutes, treasure your time in moments."
