Tell us about yourself and your books.:
I've been telling and writing stories for a long time. I'm an Alaskan by choice and have lived in the same half-finished cabin for over thirty years. I love it up here and never tire of the fantastic views. I married a Scot born in Glasgow, Scotland. Loved the man to pieces and would have gone anywhere with him. I write about Scotland because I learned so much about the country and visited there many times. I write about Alaska, both historical romance and contemporary because I love the place.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My husband had insomnia, so I'm used to writing in complete silence except for the clicking of the keys.
What authors have influenced you?
Anne McCaffrey and a bunch of others.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don't be afraid to try something new. You never know when a plot bunny will pop up from something.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up and never give in.
What are you reading now?
Just finished No Mercy by Jasmin Quinn.
What’s your biggest weakness?
A soft heart.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Crystal Singer.
What has inspired you and your writing style?
People. I love listening to other talk. I love dialogue.
What are you working on now?
The third book in the Eilan Water Trilogy and the first book in a new contemporary series, Anchorage Seasons, Twilight of the Heart.
What is your method for promoting your work?
I have a sweet author assistant who does a lot of my promotion. I want to write.
What’s next for you as a writer?
A couple of plot bunnies have popped up and I'm exploring them now. I do a ton of research when writing and love it.
How well do you work under pressure?
Very well. Get it on and get it done.
How do you decide what tone to use with a particular piece of writing?
I let the characters dictate what they want.
