Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I currently have four novels on the market and have four completed novels that will be released before the end of the year. I love writing books with plenty of suspense, developed characters and a little spicy romance thrown in.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Blood Trail is the third book in the Dardian Dreshaj series. My inspiration for this one came when I imagined a small child running for her life with nowhere safe to go. I paired the child up with my main character, Dardian Dreshaj, America’s highest paid contract killer. It was fun writing what they’d experience as a team and how they would survive the ordeal.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not sure if any of my writing habits are unusual. I like soft music playing in the background. I post pictures similar to what I’m writing about and have a storyboard that hangs on the wall that highlights important details at one glance. A writing atmosphere is important and I take advantage of it every way I can.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love this question because it gives me the opportunity to mention my favorite novelist who are Sally Beauman and Catherine Cookson. Destiny by Sally Beauman is my all-time favorite read. It goes without question why she was given a million dollar advance by the publishers. They too saw that this book was special in many ways.
What are you working on now?
Last year I was laid off on my job after the competitor of the company purchased it and made many changes. Since then I have completed five new novels: psychological thriller, a full-length historical, a book on how any one can write a book, and two books of the beginning of a sci-fi series that involves civilization as we know it to come to a permanent end. Writing is my passion. I never stop writing.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Yours of course! You have a good group of readers and hopefully a few of them would have to chance to experience new authors like myself and find plenty of enjoyable reads.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be true to your passion. Follow your gut instincts. Do plenty of research and have someone help with professional editing. And above all else, listen to ‘the voices.’ Any writer will know what that means.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I have met many of the industries stop ranking literary agents. While having lunch with one at a conference she expressed the importance of tension in every novel. When Elizabeth Pomada speaks, I always listen. LOL.
What are you reading now?
Just as writing is important, reading is very important for me. I became an avid reader at the age seven shortly after my mother passed away. I’m very proud of my personal library of printed and digitally downloaded books. Right now I’m reading The Last Town by Blake Crouch. I believe it’s the third book in the Wayward Pines series.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My fan base will be hard pressed if I don’t release another book in the Dardian series. My attention will be focused on him and him only very soon.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Destiny by Sally Beauman is my most cherished favorite.
