Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a Southern girl who writes romance for the hero lover. He’s always my favorite character, so it was natural for me to write romances told mostly from his perspective.
I live in Louisiana with my family and my half-crazed calico cat.
I’ve written six full novels so far, and have three more in various stages of completion.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent release is To Save A Life, the third book in my sci-fi/paranormal romance A’yen’s Legacy series.
The title is all about the book’s theme, and how every life is worth saving–no matter how messed up the person needing saving is. I can’t say anything specific inspired it. It’s always had this title and there was never any doubt in my mind it was perfect.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. Unless you count being on Google Hangouts with my critique/brainstorming partner while we write, and shooting paragraphs and scenes back and forth to make sure it works.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve been a voracious reader all my life, so I can’t really point to one author or specific books that have influenced me. I take in everything I read as possible inspiration.
What are you working on now?
I’m in edits on A’yen’s Legacy #4, coming out in October, and writing the first draft of A’yen’s Legacy #6.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I enjoy Facebook as a user, so I tend to focus a lot of my efforts there. I’m already there all the time anyway, so why not?
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Finish your first draft! You can’t call honestly call yourself an author if you’re not putting words on the page every day until you type The End.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you want to read. So that’s what I do.
What are you reading now?
I’m finishing up the Stories of the Raksura: Volume 2 and heading into the second Eternal Guardians book by Elisabeth Naughton.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m planning to branch out into straight paranormal romance next year. My SFR has a lot of paranormal elements, and I want to create a world just of paranormal.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Anne of Green Gables
