Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I work full time in a rehab center, live in southwestern Montana and currently enjoy no hobbies because I spend all my free time writing and marketing my books. I have written many books but have published only two. The first was published in 2011 (The Keeper) and is about psychological trauma. Just recently, I published Roses in December, a sentimental romance from the 1970s. It’s a love story appropriate for all ages set against a backdrop of family life.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Roses in December. It was inspired by bad experiences during my youth (falling in love with the wrong person).
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I write year after year for no apparent reason. I could have earned several doctorates by now instead.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favorite novel is To Kill a Mockingbird. I enjoy reading any book, fiction or nonfiction, that entertains and teaches me something about life, but I limit myself to PG-rated stories and movies.
What are you working on now?
A very odd book about illness and healing that will be a tough sell. (It’s titled Freewheeling.)
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t really found one because the categories to list under are too general.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I think writing is a lot of fun, but don’t drive yourself so hard that you forget why you ever wanted to do it in the first place.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The purpose of life is to know, love, and serve God.
What are you reading now?
Understanding English Grammar
What’s next for you as a writer?
I would like to write the scariest book ever written, but am a little short on time.
What is your favorite book of all time?
People of the Lie (nonfiction)
