Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a seventeen year old Thai author, living and working in Bangkok. My book is called ‘The Doorway’, and it is the first book I’ve published, though not the first I’ve written.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book ‘The Doorway’, was inspired by a desire to understand pain, and how people react when faced with their wildest dreams.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Oh yes, definitely. I find I write best in the dark hour between 2-3 a.m., when my mind becomes so feverish I sometimes don’t know what I’m writing anymore.
Also, I don’t drink coffee. I think I might be the only author who doesn’t.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Coraline, Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and the Hunger Games.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on a sequel to ‘The Doorway’. It’s called ‘Lumps’, and it involves a family moving into a new house, a storm, a well, a Halloween parade and a cute boy.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well wonderful sites like mybookplace and awesomegang, of course. But I also think word of mouth is the best method.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep going no matter what obstacle comes up.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve heard is from J.K. Rowling’s Harvard commencement speech, where she said ‘It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all.’
What are you reading now?
A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J. Maas. It’s great!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Publishing ‘Lumps!’ Of course, I’d have to finish writing it first.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Coraline, definitely. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read it.
