A young priest, Jerome Dubois, is enlisted to look after a dying Marchioness but, he also has to deal with her husband Lucien, a licentious man with a grudge against the clergy.
His task is made harder by his affection for a young servant girl whose safety he is concerned about.
Lucien is determined to break the priest in whatever way possible and discovers something that gives him a firm hold.
Unable to leave due to his age Jerome’s mind begins to fade and the ghosts of his past begin to catch up once again.
“At its core, this book is an uninhibited look into a breaking mind,” explains the author. “It’s a journey that will take readers right to the very brink of self-destruction, before halting to give them a time to reflect, see things from a new perspective.”
Continuing, “Like millions of others, I know what it’s like to live in a world where things appear dark and disjointed. It’s a problem far more widespread than most care to admit, and fiction can be a great vehicle through which to explore this epidemic. If it helps just one person stop, think and ask for help – then it’s all been worthwhile.”

I am a UK author who uses writing as an outlet for a variety of problems but I rarely like to dwell on them. However I do want people to be proud of who they are and never feel ashamed to be different.
I spend my time between Birmingham and the Isle of Wight. I’m fond of history and I love writing in historic grounds as they provide inspiration.
I also love the theatre and especially ballet.
I live with my mother, three cats and a gorilla (my brother.)
