The Mentazari had a long history of conquests and were confident in their superiority. What chance could humanity ever have against them?
But much of the success of the last millennia had made them sloppy, and as their usually meticulous ways began to suffer, a few small details were left unattended. Russell Olfield and Ella were a couple of those details, and when Ella’s life is threatened, Russ gets caught up in the fray.
What could he hope to achieve? They were faster, stronger, and possessed vastly superior technology. Was it possible that luck could play a part in the Earth’s deliverance? … or just perhaps … that the high school dropout might have something to teach them that they hadn’t yet learned … a lesson in terror.

There’s really not much to know about me. I’ve never traveled further than 120 miles from where I was born. As a child I never did seem to fit in, and by the time I hit second year high school I’d had more than
enough of the school system. Most of my lunch hours were spent in the library, and I think I must have read every piece of SciFi and Greek mythology available.
I’ve always thought of myself as a student of life, and after leaving high school my life gradually improved.
We had a number of pets over the years, but they were mostly just dogs and cats.
It never would have seemed practical to try my hand at becoming a serious author, until very recently when my circumstances radically changed.
If it wasn’t for the e-book revolution, I’d certainly be doing something else, but writing would always be my first choice.
There’s just something fulfilling about creating other worlds where people can lose themself for awhile, and despite the stiff competition these days, I hope to be doing it for years to come.
