Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Canadian author living in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. My favourite books are fantasy, dystopian, sci-fi, steampunk, and anything with an odd twist. I have written too many books to think of, but have published 3 so far.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is actually a series called Undercity. It was inspired by a long night working in an empty mall waiting for something interesting to happen. The silence and the solitude got me thinking about what it would be like for society to collapse and the only place left to live was a shopping mall. At first, this sounded like a pretty good situation, but as I developed the story the journey became darker and more desperate.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Unusual writing habits? Working at midnight, trying not to bite my nails and eat my weight in chocolate, and staring off into space, which scares people because they think I’m giving them dirty looks.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Influences – Neal Gaiman, Anne McCaffrey, Terry Pratchett – though I don’t have his amazing sense of humor.
What are you working on now?
I am working on an anamorphic fantasy adventure, which is due to come out in April – Here is a synopsis of Taeowolf: Deception, Betrayal, and Desire
For Aiden Murphy life was ordinary, a sensible journey where adventures only played out in his dreams. But an intriguing encounter with a mysterious stranger turns his dreams into reality and sends him on a journey, which turns his life into a nightmare. In the midst of the chaos, past loyalties fall apart, love alters, and fear becomes anger as suffering pushes Aiden to commit the unthinkable. Can he stop himself in time? Or will he become the monster of his nightmares.
