Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This book I’m offering you now is the first I’ve ever come about to publish online, I’ve written many others, though this story struck me as maybe something people would want to read.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
‘A Cocktail Of Dreams’.
The inspiration was from the television series Sex and The City.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Other than being emotionally attached to characters? No. (That was meant to be an icebreaker joke)
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Many, many, many. I have an indoor library of every genre you could possibly imagine, you name it, I’ve probably got the hardback, highlighted and dogeared to death.
What are you working on now?
The second piece to A Cocktail Of Dreams, I have more hunger to write it than I did the first.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Ah, charm? No, but seriously. I can see why they say this is the toughest industry to crack, I’m barely scraping by. Perhaps peoples leniency and acceptance is what helps 80% of writers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read, read, and read until you’re that bored with your own reality, you write to compensate it. I believe anyone can write, we all had an imagination once upon a time, all you have to do is explore with that.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
‘Don’t compare yourself.’
I suppose that could mean various different things, and hit very sensitive topics, though when it comes to writing, I compared myself to a lot of authors. Everyone is unique, and you have to understand you can’t let others affect your writing. Don’t be sensitive, the only thing they can insult is your imagination, and they can’t even see it.
What are you reading now?
Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.
A stunning insight to falling angels, and an also very easy read.
What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing, I have the ‘author bug’, I can’t stop.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I honestly can’t say, too many different worlds I’ve fallen in love with.
