Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve always loved writing, and I’ve been comfortable with exploring sexual fantasies through writing for a long time. So far I have six stories published in my ‘Fresh Touch’ series, with three more on the way! And I’m running a special on a boxed set of the first three of them until 10/20/15. Only 99cents!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
‘A Woman’s Touch’ will be the seventh installment in the ‘Fresh Touch’ series. If you’ve been following the story, things begin as an uncomplicated if laissez-faire relationship between Hannah Tyler and the young author, Jackson. But along the way she is seduced by her boss, Jordan Curtis–the same man who has given Jackson a book deal. In this newest installment, Jackson is going to ask for something in return for Hannah’s cheating with the boss. And–SPOILER ALERT!–it may or may not involve bringing another woman into the bedroom!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I procrastinate. Wait, is that unusual? Lol! Probably not. I LOVE writing, but since I’m just getting started, I still have all the other fetters of everyday life to deal with. Sometimes I just don’t have the energy to sit down and crank out a thousand words at the end of a long workday. But whenever I do, I always feel accomplished and rewarded.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Obviously Selena Kitt is the big name that comes to mind for Erotica–not only because of her own writing, but because of the marvelous platform she’s built for herself. I also want to give a shout-out to all my fellow indie-authors who hang out on KBoards and give noobs like me plenty of good advice (where we take it or not–ha!).
What are you working on now?
After the ‘Fresh Touch’ series wraps up, I’ve got big plans! I’ve started work on three new series: a vampire billionaire romance; a stepbrother werewolf romance; and a BBW bear-shifter romance! These all seem to be vibrant markets right now, so I’m super stoked to see what happens. But I’m trying to finish ‘Touch’ and I want to have a couple of installments done for each series before I publish any of them so that I don’t lose any momentum. I’m also doing a couple of stand-alone shorts–some ‘private lessons’ seductions (french tutor, music teacher, things like that). Should be hot! And lastly, I’m hoping to crank out a series of ‘naughty santa’ shorts before the Holidays so that people who are in the Christmas spirit but still want a little adult reading can find a happy medium 😉
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t have my own website just yet; so far I’m on facebook and twitter. But whenever I finish a new release I like to try to get it out on some lists from people like awesomegang, the naughty list, etc.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
KEEP WRITING! No matter what else you do in terms of promoting, selling, building a fanbase, editing, reading, etc.–the most important thing is to keep writing. And especially if, like me, you are writing erotic short stories; no one cares anymore if you have 15 or 30 titles (trust me–I know!). The watermarks now are more like 52, 100, 300, etc. Just keep writing!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
What are you reading now?
I just nabbed a boxed set put together by Selena Kitt over at Excite Spice. It’s called ‘Paws and Claws,’ and features a lot of shifter romance and erotica. Pretty exciting so far!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Assuming all of my news series go well, I’ll probably start more in the same vein after. It’s tricky though. There’s definitely a balance to be struck between finding what’s popular (what will sell!) and what you can actually enjoy writing. I don’t do forced sub, for example–it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth (no dirty pun intended).
What is your favorite book of all time?
Too many to narrow it down! Lately I’ve really been digging ‘Watership Down’ by Richard Adams. I think I’m a classicist at heart.
