Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m J.A. Cipriano, author, rogue, Jedi, the batman. I’ve written and published 16 novels since September
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled Conquest’s Hammer. It is a mashup between Norse mythology’s Ragnarok and
the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Of course! First, I, um, then I, well, surely.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
All books influence me. I like to see myself as this white canvas and anytime I read something it leaves a mark. Sometimes it’s a big mark, sometimes it’s a tear or a hole in the fabric, other times a splash of color.
If I had to pick one, I’d say it was probably Jim Butcher’s Dresden files.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on Conquest’s Hammer as I said earlier and the first book in a new series titled: Dirge
Meilan: Demon Hunter which is about a girl on a treasure hunt who stumbles into a tomb full of undead.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Telling Sarah Canning (my A.A) to do stuff as nicely as possible. After that? Facebook.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Writing is hard. Selling books is more so. Having good writing that hits genre expectations, a good cover, a good blurb is par for the course. Sure, you can succeed without these things but it’s harder. Do you want to make things harder for yourself?
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Nearly every “overnight success” had thousands of hours of failure before that point.
What are you reading now?
I just finished David Levithan’s Every Day, which I really enjoyed. I’ve been reading Kevin Hearne’s
Hounded off and on since October.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Complete and utter world domination =D But I’ll bring ice cream and pie.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Armor by John Steakley
