Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I retired from the Air Force in 2003. I wanted to find a way to keep those memories of places I had been and people I had met. I decided to honor those memories by writing science fiction trying to capture the character of those I had met. I have two finished books
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Gray Panthers Earths Revenge. It is the second book in the Gray Panthers trilogy. In the first of the series Gray Panthers Battle for Earth, Retired veterans take it upon themselves to successfully deter an invasion of Earth. In my second book the Gray Panthers expand their ranks to accept the young.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I just shut myself off while the juices are flowing then come back up for more inspiration
What authors, or books have influenced you?
W.E.B. Griffin, Robert Heinlein, John Ringo. Ringo was the author that inspired me to be an author and hooked me on Military Science Fiction. I try to emulate his style as I develop my own style.
What are you working on now?
Gray Panthers Dixie, I have grown with each book I believe. In the third book I have tried to capture not only the spirit of the characters but the demons of fighting. I have shown those who are leaders and how they make their own choices. I took an honorable society and made its leaders into prostitutes.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I blitzkrieg all the sites and look for promising new sites like mybookplace.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you know. Develop a thick skin. Keep your day job.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t fear the thunder
What are you reading now?
I have a half dozen books from new authors, I just need to open them. I can’t tear myself away from my writing when my readers keep asking when my next book will be out.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to go back to my very first book and bring it up to the standards of my other books. I did many things wrong both from inexperience and lack of money.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Men at War Series by W.E.B. Griffin
The master story teller had me hooked at a young age. The character development and interaction combined with plot was outstanding. He has you caring about the characters and the outcome.
