Daughters in the Dead Land retells the Greek myth of the Pleiades, Atlas’ seven daughters who were turned into stars. This collection is Pandora’s box: though small, it contains all. Time, space, divinity, mythology, light, and darkness crouch at the bottom of every line. Jessica Van de Kemp writes with power and ancient wisdom, sensuality and poise; few poets can match word to sound as she can, while also stirring the deep waters of truth.
