Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born and grew up in Hackney, East London. A colouful and vibrant part of London which was an exciting place to grow up.
I went on to live, study and work in a few other countries around the world, and I also learned to speak a few other languages.
Educationally I studied Psychology, and I also have Psychotherapy, NLP, and Life Coaching diplomas.
I am a Qualified Psychotherapist, and a renowned Motivational Expert, and it is this that has driven me on to write personal development and self help books. I use my work and life experience to help the reader live a happier and more optimal existence.
I have four published books right now, and have written book five in my series, and I amcurrently working on book six.
My books are:
The Secrets of Existence and Fulfilment
The Secrets of Calmness and Inner Peace
The Secrets of Life and Beyond
The Secrets of Confidence and Success
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my last book is The Secrets of Confidence and Success, and it is a follow up to the other books in the series.
It is an excellent and powerful book in the self help, personal growth, and personal development genre.
My desire to further help people live a more optimal life where they gain more self esteem and confidence is my main inspirational factor behind the writing of book four in the series!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have been fairly disciplined over the last few years regarding my writing, and as a writer/author, you never really switch off. Ideas always come to you, and when you write non-fiction, you always use your own expertise and experience to strhcture your books.
In reality my writing habits are not too unusual…
I always have tea and snacks on hand when I write!!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to mention!!
At school and college I also studied English Literature for four years before moving on to psychology, so I have read and studied books from all different genres and authors.
Probably as a youngster the book 1984 by George Orwell influenced me the most as I studied it at high school and then at college!
However many writers and authirs have influenced me since…
What are you working on now?
At present I am working on book six in my series of self help and personal development books. I am looking forward to publishing book five in my series in the near future, and in the meantime I am also working on book six…
I love writing as it is a good way for me to relax and put down what my thoughts are. Also I love the idea that I am helping many people through my books. A very humbling feeling indeed…
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think in reality, writing is not just about the actual writing, it is more about building a platform as an author and promoting yourself. The sad reaity is that unless you are commissioned or famous in any way, the vast majority of promotion and discoverability depends on you.
You need to realize that you must spend a long time doing promotional work, and you must have an online presence. Which means you need to be active on social media as well as doing everything possible to get discovered.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Have belief in yourself and never give up!!
You may encounter criticisms along the way, and then rejections, but have belief in yourself and develop the resilience needed to handle any rejection.
Above all, enjoy the process and stay positive…
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Hmmm, good question.
The best advice I have ever heard is…
“…Your father lives on in you…”
And this pushed me on to focus on my writing after my father passed away a few years back. I think he would have been very proud of me as I always told him I would write a book one day.
Sadly he never got to see that, but I hope somehow, and somewhere he knows…..
What are you reading now?
Lots of proof reading for me at present…
I have just gone over book five in my series, and I am writing and reading through book six in my series…
So lots of writing and reading going on in my spare time!!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully people get behind me and my books, and spread the message I am trying to get across.
My mission is to create greater awareness about emotional well being and mental health issues through my work and through my books.
When all my books become best sellers I can think about my next steps from there!!!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Another difficult question to answer really…
Too many to mention.
I know it sounds pretentious but to see my first book in print and to hold it in my hands in hardback was an immensely overwhelming moment in my life…
So my favourite book of all time is:
The Secrets of Existence and Fulfilment
