Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the country and love it. I enjoy being surrounded by trees and meadows, not to mention all the little critters such as rabbits, deer, and coyotes. I have two teenagers who keep me hopping with extracurricular activities.
I have been a teacher for many years, first in the computer industry and then in education, both drop-outs and high school students. I have written three books in The Silver Series: Silver Knight, Silver Demon, and Silver Dreamer. I’m very excited because Silver Dreamer is complete and will be up for sale shortly. I am working on two other projects at the moment which keep me busy. My fourth book will be out the summer of 2016.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I just completed the third book in The Silver Series called Silver Dreamer. The entire series would never have been written if my brother had not encouraged me to write my ideas down.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
None that I can think of right off hand.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love several sci-fi and fantasy authors, such as Andre Norton and Terry Brooks.
What are you working on now?
My current project is Apophis. All about a devastating asteroid raining destruction and chaos down on our world. Two groups are created to save mankind, our culture, and our technology. One group goes into stasis while the other heads to Mars. Centuries later, those in stasis wake up to find the Martians have invaded!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still working on that, but, hopefully, My Book Place will be it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The only way to succeed in writing is to write. Looking at a blank page doesn’t cut it. Write anything that comes to mind from groceries, to politics, to love. It doesn’t matter. Inspiration will strike as long as you’re writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The Golden Rule. When a student would become rude, I would remind him or her that I had never been rude to them. Had I? When the answer of ‘no’ came out, the student would always tone it down, apologize, and we could work out the situation.
What are you reading now?
My son wants me to read a series call The Ranger’s Apprentice. He’s gotten me the first book to start.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just completing the projects I’m currently working on and finding new ones.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Witch World by Andre Norton
