Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
So far this is my first. My second is currently in progress. I hope to have it done by the end of this year. 2015 🙂
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Memoirs of a Girl Who Loves God ~ I was inspired by a teen who is very close to me. She had issues with cutting at the age of 14 and I interviewed her extensively. She was very open with me.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Growing up, I read a lot of Stephen King. In my young adult years, I turned the pages of Nora Roberts, Karen Robard, and Karen Marie Moning. Then I really sought out historical fiction. It all fascinates me. They all make me want to be a better writer.
What are you working on now?
The sequel to Memoirs of a Girl Who Loves God. Actually, MGWLG is a stand-alone. There wasn’t supposed to be a sequel, but then things changed.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m so new I’m still figuring that out.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes! Start establishing your author platform way in advance. Create your author page on facebook, get your twitter account going, join groups, and make friends. Be genuine. These folks will help you when you’re ready to launch. They’re priceless.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Everyone needs an editor, even editors.
What are you reading now?
Sparkles and Blood by Alex McGilvery
What’s next for you as a writer?
More and more books.
What is your favorite book of all time?
