Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written 3 books. Two, Skeletal Remains & Abandoned Memories, are available at Amazon.com. As a recovering alcoholic and addict, digital photography is my program and rehab. It is my art and all consuming passion. Nothing else has ever shown me my own potential and allowed me to express myself so completely. Nothing else has been so personally gratifying and rewarding. I spend days searching for places to explore..drive hundreds of miles to get there..push myself hard mentally and physically. When I am exploring and taking photos..its MY TIME MY WAY. No distractions, no interference , except for avoiding the occasional run in with a security guard or policeman LOL!
I don’t care about technical perfection, it tends to make art boring, predictable and sterile. I care about conveying a moment..a mood..and showing my version of it. I am owned by a feisty Calico named Nora.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Abandoned Memories. The last time I was in Kentucky, I was too young to remember being there. So when Mom suggested we take a trip there, I was excited about seeing family…and exploring abandoned places. In California, anything abandoned is either quickly torn down, covered with graffiti or pointlessly vandalized. The places I photographed in Kentucky & Tennessee were almost completely untouched, except by time. It was so amazing!! I spent 4 solid days exploring and photographing, it was pure Heaven to me! I can’t wait to go back!!!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not being able to stop. I tend to run myself into the ground with my projects. Sometimes I have to remember to enjoy them, lol. No one see’s what I am doing until I am happy with it. I tend to obsess.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
All the places I haven’t been yet!
What are you working on now?
Another book of urban exploration photos, and a book of my female model photography.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon and pretty-hot.com have been wonderful.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes..DON’T GIVE UP! Be ready to do a lot of work. Writing, promoting, editing, linking, posting and searching the web for more places to all the a fore mentioned. Your friends and family like what you do, but very few will actually buy it or help you…even when its free! Get over it. It took me a while to accept this. Make sure you are doing it for yourself. Make sure you take a break once in a while. Go out. Even if its just for a walk by yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do it for yourself. Always return the favor.
What are you reading now?
Black Like Me.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am always searching for new places to explore and photograph. This takes a lot of time, effort and luck.
What is your favorite book of all time?
To Kill a Mocking Bird. Its my favorite movie of all time too!
