Benjamin Clymer’s Gift is a story about love and loss, greed and deceit…
Benjamin Clymer was a farmer whose wife taught him to read when he was twenty-three. Devastated after her sudden death and the death of their infant son, he abandoned the farm and worked as a wood carver in a furniture factory. Years later he had an idea for a unique memorial to her and had a will drawn, trusting that his wishes would be honored. Over his objections, his attorney, Charles Gustafson, insisted on a clause that he would eventually need to battle a conniving college president who had another idea for the use of Benjamin’s money that threatened Benjamin’s unique gift.
