Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I love sports, dogs, and travel – and letting these inspire romance stories that feature hot alpha heroes and capable heroines you can identify with. I have written four books and two short stories in the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series, and have three Travel / Adventure Romances coming out soon.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Desert Blood, which comes from a couple of influences. The Twin Moon Ranch series is set on an Arizona ranch, so all the titles start with Desert (Book 1 is Desert Moon, Book 3 Desert Fate, and so on). I also like using a double O in the title if I can because that echoes the symbol of ranch, which is two circles overlapping by a third, like a Venn diagram. That reflects the dual nature of the shifters living on the ranch and the call of a full moon on the wolf side of their personalities. Finally, the villain in this story is a vampire, so the “Blood” part of the title does double duty – implying the vampire threat as well as incorporating the Twin Moon symbol.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, if you don’t count regular doses of dark chocolate!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I was inspired by several great authors and their series. My books combine the fast pace of Savannah Stuart’s sexy shifter romances crossed with Nicky Charles’ richly layered Lycan world. They’re also hot and sexy a la Anne Marsh – except that these wolves don’t share their mates.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a Prequel to the Twin Moon Ranch series that takes place two years before Book 1, with a captivating coyote-wolf shifter named Zack. He’s the ranch equivalent of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks, and he’s got no business even looking at the new girl in town, Rae. But there’s something about her, and he just can’t keep away. That will release on June 1st as part of the MASTERS OF THE HUNT: FATED AND FORBIDDEN BOXED SET. Mark the date!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The Wolf Pack on facebook is a great place to bounce ideas and share new works with avid and knowledgeable PNR fans.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Stick through writer’s block. Just keep writing, even if it feels like nothing good is coming out. try skipping to a different scene and coming back, but don’t give up. Sooner or later, the right words will start to flow again.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I can’t quote a single piece of advice, though it seems like every bit of shared wisdom I get from great authors like Ellis Leigh are incredibly valuable.
What are you reading now?
Anne Marsh’s Wicked Secrets. It’s incredibly hot, like everything else she writes!
What’s next for you as a writer?
In parallel to my shapeshifter series, I’m developing a new Adventure Romance series which launches this summer with Books 1 and 2, Uncharted Waters and Uncharted Territory. While my shapeshifter books are dark and dangerous, the adventure romances are exotic and exciting – with heroes and heroines that fit the bill!
What is your favorite book of all time?
That’s like asking me to name my favorite child or my favorite hero among the hot alphas I have created in my books – impossible!
