Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have one book being released on August 2nd, 2017 – Little Gray Dress.
Aimee Brown is a writer and avid reader, often blogging her thoughts on chick lit books. Little Gray Dress is her first novel published. She’s currently studying for her Bachelor’s degree in English Writing. She spends much of her time writing her next book, doing homework, raising three teenagers, binge watching shows on Netflix and obsessively cleaning and redecorating her house. She’s fluent in sarcasm and has been known to use far too many swear words.
Aimee grew up in Oregon but is now a transplant living in cold Montana with her husband of twenty years, three teenage children, and many, many pets.
She would love to hear your thoughts on Little Gray Dress! If you want to chat with her she’s very active on social media. Find her over at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or her author website – http://www.authoraimeebrown.com. Continue checking her website for information on her next book release!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Little Gray Dress.
I love chick lit, romantic comedy and 90's rom/com movies. I wanted to write something I would love to read.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have a house full of teenagers and yet still managed to write a book. My house is always loud, yet somehow, I'm able to tune it all out and write.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Sophie Kinsella, Candace Bushnell, Janet Evanovich, Meg Cabot… the list goes on and on. There are just so many great ones.
What are you working on now?
A spin-off about one of the characters in Little Gray Dress. I can't say too much or I might give something away before you've read the first!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter! Interact with people. Is there anything better than chatting with someone who is excited about your book? No!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Start marketing NOW! You are selling yourself, so it's never too early to build a fan base.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Always mop the bathroom last. No one wants a pubic hair in the kitchen. -said by my mom (ha!)
What are you reading now?
All That Glitters by author Tracy Krimmer.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully a fabulous release of my debut novel in August. And to finish the next book I'm working on.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That's way too hard to choose. I love anything, Sophie Kinsella. I love happy endings. I love heartwarming stories. I love a book that can make me laugh out loud, yet feel like I just took a vacation from my favorite chair.
