‘A Poet Phase & College Days’ is a journey filled with exploration, discovery, growth and observation. The first collection of poetry from Justin McCain approaches feelings of family, spirituality and finding identity within the realm of an integral collegiate experience. Stocked with imagery, transparency, heavy metaphors and cutting lines, McCain opens up about his education in and out of the classroom and the lessons that came from this portion of his life. His poems are personal, inviting and strikingly vulnerable, giving insight that will allow the reader to become entranced by a reflective journey, with a resting place that can only be found by one’s own self analysis.
